[rl] everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend
even if i wanted to.

[Sylar had to execute his plan perfectly. First he had to wait until Friday, which was a trial considering how he'd rather just hop back to Claire's world (His? Was it really his anymore?) and grab her any old time.

But he told her Friday, so he waited. Besides, she had to appreciate the humor of it. Even if she pretended not to when he sent her the video.

Next was waiting for the perfect moment to "borrow" Spike's world-hopping device. Swiping things from his roommates wasn't always easy, but he'd learned to be sneaky and subtle about it. (Or at least, he thought he did.)

Then it was a matter of finding Claire. Luckily, she was in Costa Verde. Easy as pie. Pie she'd soon be baking for him.

In the middle of his house-wide search for Claire, Miss Moppet found him, pouncing on his shoe. It was almost disappointing to see that she was slowly but surely growing up from her original kitten size. Picking her up off the ground, Sylar opted to wait on the living room sofa while entertaining the cat on his lap. Claire would reveal herself sooner or later.]

So, [He circles, blocking Sylar from the staircase.] you're going to leave her be. You put all this behind you, huh? That's why I believe in you. Are you gonna prove me wrong?

[He could easily shove Spike out of the way and bound upstairs, but he won't. BECAUSE HE'S A GOOD GUY NOW. Do you see that Claire? A GOOD GUY. He's really proud of himself for not ransacking her for ~answers~ right now. That's the best he can do. ]

I can't just leave her be. She's -- we're meant to be together.

[Miss Moppet hops out of his arms and runs away to the living room, because even she is done with this shit.]

[ And eventually Miss Moppet wanders around to the staircase and stumbles her way up into Claire's lap. But the staircase is like a mountain for her so it's like she rock climbs her way into Claire's lap. And Claire just holds her tight, resting her chin on the top of her little kitten head and continuing to listen in. ]

She doesn't seem to agree there. [He's never seen Sylar like this, and yeah he may have texted Peter about what the hell was happening. He'd be a lot more ~sympathetic~ to Sylar if he could get Claire out of the apartment.]

That's because she doesn't understand yet.

[ Unadulterated loathing reaching critical mass. Claire may very well explode with frustration. This dumb mentality of Sylar's is seriously grating on her nerves but she's just going to force herself to stay put for her own good. Self preservation -- better than pride. ]

Understand.. what exactly?

That we're supposed to be together. We're the only ones who can regenerate on our world. The only ones who can live forever. [that's ... probably not true but sylar's not going to admit that right now. it does not fit into his thesis 8| ] She can try to avoid me as long as she wants, but eventually we're gonna be all that's left. And then? She won't have any other choice.

[ And this is the part where Claire tries to block that out and go into denial about it. Because there have to be other regens eventually or something and it's not like she can't have non-regen friends ... even if they're all going to die eventually ... :( Eternal sadface. She even tears up a little, huffing, because he can't see her so she doesn't need to turn that frustration and sadness into rage right now. ]

Still, right now, mate? You're freaking her out a little bit. Maybe I could take her for a breather, and you two could reconnect when she's calmed down? [He tries to force more empathy into his voice, but honestly - most of it's pretty genuine.]

I just wanted to see her. [Now he's considerably calmer and just ... sounds sad and kind of pathetic. ]

[Spike steps closer, frowning a bit.]

I know that, mate. I know you did.

Why is that so wrong? [besides the ten million reasons that it IS wrong ... ]

It's not wrong - I didn't say it was wrong. You've just spooked her, that's all.

So what am I supposed to do?

Let her go home for a bit. You can try again another day.

[He gets this look on his face like he suddenly realizes that Spike was trying to ~trick him~ into doing this the entire time. Because he's fucking stupid.]

You're not getting it back.

[Well, that was worth a shot. Spike looks at his shoes, regrouping.]

That's alright. Keep it. [He looks back up at Sylar.] What will you have us do now, hm?

[Now that they've had this big dramatic outburst, all of his ideas sound stupid. But he's too stubborn to be like "lol nothing guess Claire should go home now!" ]

Let's watch Passions. I'm going to order Chinese.

You call in, I'll go fetch Claire. [He goes up the stairs, finding Claire and Miss Moppet at the top and turning to sit by her.] Are you alright, luv?

[ When she hears Spike coming, she reaches up to wipe her eyes and Miss Moppet jumps out of her lap and scurries backwards towards the bedrooms. She looks over her shoulder after the cat briefly then over at Spike as he sits beside her. She settles on staring at her lap where she's wringing her hands together anxiously. ]

Peachy. [ It's course at first, but then she softens a little, frowning and giving him a surprisingly open, vulnerable look that's worried and a little frightened. ] I'm not leaving, am I?

[He wraps his arm around her gently, so she can shrug him off if she's uncomfortable.]

Now, pet, that's up to you. He's still got my lighter and I'll fight him to get it back for you. Or we can try to run on foot. But I think we've got a better chance if we just sit with him for a while. You're not up to it and I'll figure something else out, alright?

[ She lets him get away with it for the time being, though her shoulders do tense. ]

I'm tired of humoring him. He's supposed to be out of my life. He's supposed to be dead. [ She scrubs her hands over her face. She wasn't going to force Spike into fighting him because of that, though, it wasn't her call to make. And his willingness to do it didn't mean he wanted to. Given all her conversations with Willow about Spike needing somebody on his side to get better, she couldn't take away the person on Sylar's that might make him remotely better. Even if it didn't seem to be working so far. ]

Fine. All right, I'll stick around. But if he tries anything creepy, I'm running.

[He drops his hand with a pat to her shoulder, getting back up.]

I owe you for this one, bit.

[Sylar is an impatient little bitch yelling from the living room.]

I ORDERED THE CHINESE.
